Kale Mathri - Easy Homemade Whole Wheat Kale Crackers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Kale Leaves cut the stem and chop fine
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • ¼ cup Gram Flour
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Hot oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Combine chopped kale leaves, whole wheat flour, gram flour, red chili powder, sesame seeds, fennel seeds and salt in a bowl.
  • Add hot oil and mix with the spoon. Once it is cool mix everything together with your hands till it looks like breadcrumbs. Add water little at a time and mix. Knead slowly to form a semi stiff dough. Divide the dough in equal parts.
  • On a floured surface roll the dough in a thin circle with a rolling pin. With a cutter, cut out circular crackers in the dough. Remove the extra dough and add it to the unused dough. Prick each cracker with a fork.
  • Gently slide 3 to 4 crackers into the hot oil in a frying pan and fry till golden brown on both sides.
  • Drain on absorbent paper. Serve with cuppa of tea.
